Dusty Girls Tournament at Cupertino High School

Congratulations to the Wilcox Girls Wrestling team for winning the 2025 Dusty Girls Tournament, held at Cupertino High School on January 3, 2025. Wilcox scored 139 points, followed by runner-up Terra Nova (81 points), Lowell (79 points), Lynbrook (78 points), Mitty (68.5 points), Salinas (67 points), San Mateo (64 points), Presentation (63 points), Carlmont (55 points), and Half Moon Bay in 10th place with 50 points. 

Wilcox individual medalist (9 total): 
Champions: Mariah Nogami and Kimmora Teo
Runner-up (2nd): Madison Moyano  and Izzy Juarez
3rd place: Nethra Jakkula
5th place: Maria Herrera, Arianna Fernandez, Karen Nguyen

2023-24 CIF State Championships

Congratulations to state qualifier Kimmora Teo for competing in her second CIF State Championship at Mechanics Bank in Bakersfield this weekend. She won one match and lost two with a tough draw, facing the top-ranked wrestler in the country and eventual two-time state champion in the first round. Upward and onward, keep working hard, Kimmora!

Central Coast Section (CCS) girls wrestling earned 10 medals total, including a state champion title (Scotts Valley High School), four medals by Gilroy girls (2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th). Other schools earning medals included, but not limited to, Half Moon Bay (5th), Gunn (7th), Hollister (5th), Greenfield (5th).

Gilroy boys wrestling team earned 7 medals at CIF State, while Los Gatos had two, and Palma had one.

2023-24 CCS Masters

Congratulations to the Charger Girls for a strong performance at CCS Masters at Watsonville yesterday. Wilcox tied for 11th place in the team score. Gilroy won the team title followed by Alisal and Monterey taking second and third place, respectively. Kimmora Teo placed 4th in the 155 pound weight class to qualify for the CIF State Championships in Bakersfield, CA, next week. Izabella Juarez (shown in the photo below) placed 6th in the 235 pound category to earn a medal and All-CCS honors.

2023-24 SCVAL League Champions

It’s a three-peat for the Lady Chargers who took home the team title at the SCVAL Wrestling Championships, qualifying 10 athletes for next week’s CCS Regionals. Congratulations to Madison Moyano for winning the league title in the 120 pound weight class. Good luck to all the Charger wrestlers next week!

2024 Ladies Challenge at Lynbrook HS

Congratulations to Wilcox for taking 3rd place at the Ladies Challenge at Lynbrook High School. Monterey HS and Lowell HS took first and second, respectively. Outstanding performance by Kimora Teo who pinned all her opponents and captured the title at 157 pounds. Other placers included: 100 pounds, 6th Place – Nana Yang; 105 pounds, 2nd place – Sierra Smith; 110 pounds, 6th Place – Maria Herrera; 120 pounds, 5th Place – Madison Moyano; 145 pounds, 3rd Place – Charlotte Hall; 235 pounds, 3rd Place – Izzy Juarez.

2023 CCS Wrestling Championships

Congratulations to the Wilcox Chargers Girls Wrestling Team for their performance at the 2023 CCS Wrestling Championships. Wilcox took 5th as a team out of 78 participating schools with 4 medalists. Senior Perla Hernandez was crowned CCS Champion in the 160-pound weight class to lead the Chargers, with Freshman , Kimora Teo reaching the Championship finals and taking runner-up honors at 170-pounds. Both athletes will be competing in the 2023 CIF State Championships! Seniors Nadia Danesh and Jesse Adame placed 5th and 6th, respectively.
